McGruer: A Name Synonymous with Security in St. John’s
McGruer Agencies Ltd officially began back in 1985 and remains a family owned and operated business serving the St. John’s community. Owner Alex McGruer was interested in electronics from an early age and followed his passion for circuits, transistors, and microchips into the security field. His passion for the area and local community kept him in the city during a period when many others fled for opportunities elsewhere.
Alex started out installing panic button links on telephones before eventually graduating to more advanced security systems, having trained with Alliance Security to enhance his burgeoning skill set. Today, his company offers a full range of custom services designed to protect the interests of his fellow “townies.”
When not installing cutting edge security solutions for local homeowners and businesses, Alex can be found kayaking or canoeing the open sea.
